I studied History and Conservation of Architectural and Environmental Heritage at the Faculty of "Mediterranea" Studies of Architecture in Reggio Calabria where I received both my bachelor's degree in December 2008 and my license to practice as an Consevative_Architect of Architectural and Environmental Heritage in March 2010.
He is registered with:
- Order of Architects, Planners, Landscapers, and Conservators of the Province of Ragusa at n. 733 (2010);
- Single Regional Register of Professionals of the Region of Sicily at no. 6550.
From 2008 to 2010, after an internship of about three years at some architectural firms in Ragusa, I gained experience in the field of restoration by performing a variety of tasks including in particular the survey and analysis of ancient artifacts, understood as extraordinary maintenance, building and urban renovations.
I collaborated with art heritage restoration laboratories for about 4 years, from 2009 to 2012, as an expert in the graphic and iconographic representation on paper of wooden works, votive shrines, frescoes and paintings, carrying out cataloging, mapping of degradation and materials.
These include the survey, mapping, textural study and identification of the restoration work on the wooden and polychrome statue of St. Nicholas (16th century AD) placed in the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Comiso and the painted walls of the Baptistery of St. John the Baptist in Ragusa, in mid-2010 and the first half of 2012, respectively.
In particular, among various consulting activities on restoration, in September 2009 I actively participated in writing a report entitle "The Quarry of Gobo Dura - Aksum." concerning the historical and specific study (Analysis of Ancient Aksumite Excavation Methods) on the caving activities of phonolitic rocks used as stone material for the making of Axumite stelae in Ethiopia, within the international project “The Aksum Obelisk Re-Installation Project” organized by the Italian government on the restoration, return and reinstallation of the Roman Axumite stele looted from Ethiopia during the fascist period.
I carried out activities related to teaching as a tutor in the subjects of wood restoration, drawing and relief of artistic heritage at the Academy of Fine Arts in Comiso (RG) in the degree course in Conservation of Artistic and Museographic Heritage, after a brief teaching period of 71 hours for a Training Course regarding "Masonry Restoration Officer" activated in 2010 by the C.I.P.A.A.T of Ragusa.
Thereafter, that is, in the period between 2019 and 2020, I will be assigned by the Council of Ragusa, the activation and carrying out of a Chiseling Course, lasting 230 hours, as part of the activities of participatory democracy/participatory budgeting convened by the municipality itself and designed to involve educational and training proposals of citizens, entitled "Re_Editing the Stone".
I followed with interest various refresher activities such as a "Symposyum” Restoration International from the theme "Insects and wooden works of art and architecture." at the "Mediterranea" Faculty of Architecture in Reggio Calabria and at various conferences concerning restoration and design in historic centers such as. "Courting and Narratives." (Projects and Construction Sites 2009-2011), at the Order of Architects, Landscape Architects, Planners and Conservators of the B.B.A.A. of Catania.
At the end of 2012 I moved to Malta where, from 2013 until 2021, I had numerous collaborations with wood restoration laboratories, architectural firms, technical experts in architectural restoration and cultural heritage restoration companies. In particular, in the first phase, I was called to provide technical support for the mapping and cataloguing of the conservation restoration of three polychrome and almost entirely gilded chapels on decorative stone supports in St. John's Co-Cathedral in Valletta: Chapels of France, Provence and Anglo-Bavarian. Also, at the same stage, I simultaneously collaborate with a wooden restoration laboratory on the mapping of the entire gilded wooden apparatus of the Choir and Lectern of the Co-Cathedral itself.
After various collaborations, always in the sector of wooden restoration, on works of historical and artistic value, will be directed towards the preparation of the Museum of St. Pawl's Cathedral in Mdina, and which will be followed by technical collaborative activities (survey and mapping) on various wooden restorations of works of historical-artistic interest and of Maltese national value.

I am currently working as freelancer
Various archaeological excavation activities have been carried out both as a member of Sicilia Antica (Association for the protection and enhancement of the cultural and environmental heritage of the Sicilian region) and as a training internship during the course of studies in Conservation of BB.AA. at the Calabria region, which allowed me a greater acquisition of information regarding the problems related to the protection of archaeological heritage and the survey methodologies applied to the excavation.
